Life’s been going pretty well, lately. I’ve been nailing my goals, and recently moved on to what I’m calling “Phase Two” of that effort. It’s pretty much the same as Phase One, only I’ve added some new goals into the mix and further limited what I spend my time and energy on. Perhaps I’ll write all that up in the near future, but (as my lack of updates might indicate) writing blog posts isn’t high on my priority list, so I’ll keep this one short.
In fact, writing posts of any sort isn’t a thing I’m doing much of these days. My Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts have been gathering a lovely patina of disuse and I can’t see that changing any time soon. Twitter and Facebook? Essentially useless, unless your idea of fun is arguing with bots or being bombarded by poorly-sourced, easily-debunked memes. As for Instagram, I’ve done very little photography since the weather turned cold, and what I have done I’ve decided is just for myself.
Then there’s all the…bad behavior which pretty much every tech company in the world seems keen to engage in. So, yeah, I think I’m kinda done with most of them, and totally done with blindly handing over my data and relying on them in order to do my work.
To that end (and others), I just put Linux back on my laptop. That’s a blog post in and of itself, though, so I’ll leave it at that.
Suffice it to say, this whole “Refocusing” effort of mine has more than fulfilled every single hope I had for it, and the next few months are looking like they’ll be even better.
How’re you doing?
